~ Chapter 96: The end of Pirate Island (Part 1) ~
[Illsyore's point of view]
The allocated week went by in a flash with me and my wives working on the clock to make sure we could save as many innocents as we could. There were many idiots who tried to lie, cheat, or blackmail their way into the safe zones, but they were all caught and killed without mercy. The true nature of these people was shown in this moment of crisis, and it wasn't a pretty one.
Seeing this event as the end of their normal lives and maybe already hearing death knocking on their doors, many of them revealed their ugly sides and committed unforgivable felonies. Among the serial killers and rapists, there were also cannibals and torturers. These monsters who wore a human skin met a swift end at our hands.
Although I gave out several warnings to the islanders and showed the results of disobeying me, as pirates, it was in their nature to ignore such things. Thus, we took their lives without remorse.
The ones who tried to escape weren't allowed to do so either. Their slow moving boats were easy pickings for my highly precise AGLMC Lasers. The beams struck their hulls with unrelenting force and formed a big hole in them. They didn't even see it coming. The rest was left to the monsters lurking in the depths of the ocean as the pirates were gobbled up one after another.
For a moment, I did ponder if it was a good idea to try and salvage their loot, but I gave up on this thought. In the future, I could point this place out as a treasure hunt for the thrill seekers.
Once I declared the event over, I did not bother anymore with the pirate survivors who hid on the island. What I did instead was to merge the two camps into one and start counting.
“There are 1247.” Ayuseya gave the report.
“Not as many as I had initially hoped...” I said as I looked towards the mass of men, women, and children who were having their supper.
“Indeed, maybe just 10% of the whole population?” Shanteya nodded.
“Less...” Nanya mumbled.
“It can't be helped...” I let out a sigh.
“What should we do now?” Shanteya asked.
“For now, let us rest. It's getting dark outside. Tomorrow morning I'm going to build some boats and give them some supplies. If they head for Allasn continent, they should find refuge there.” I replied as I rubbed my chin.
“Paramanium is a no-go?” Ayuseya asked.
“Yes. Just thinking about sending these poor people over there gives me a bad feeling.” I shuddered.
“Good! Then I'm going to take Illsy now!” Tamara suddenly announced and grabbed me by my left foot.
“Huh?! What the?! Ugh!” she pulled, and I fell face first in the dirt.
The oversized cat dragged me away from there like a stereotypical caveman would its mate.
“What's going on? Tamara?” I tried to get an explanation while attempting to get back on my feet.
“Sorry, Illsy, Tamara won.” Ayuseya said with a wry smile.
“Huh?!” I raised an idiotic shout, but they all ignored me as the feline dragged me into the forest.
When she found a good resting place, she told me to make a room for us, and I complied. What came next was a night of moaning, hugging, and lots of kisses. The nekatar was quite passionate in her love-making, but she often gave me the impression that she knew more than she let out.
Even after she went to sleep, the nekatar continued to hug me and refused to let go. I was stuck to her naked body until she woke up later that day. Because of this, I was able to catch a few hours of sleep as well, but we both seriously needed a shower afterwards. Our scent was all over the place.
We returned to the campsite at around 2 or 3 PM. The girls were already having a meal and the survivors were waiting for me to dictate their fate. We ate something fast and then I got to work.
Several hours later, I finished building three 1000 tonne galleons, each outfitted to carry up to at least 300 sailors and another 100-150 regular passengers. They were also stocked with plenty of food, and all sorts of necessities the crew might need on this journey, including several barrels of lemons to avoid scurvy. I didn't make those, just reallocated the existing supplies in the two towns. Since the original galleons didn't have anything like a toilet, I made some specially designed cabins for people to use.
“There!” I said satisfied.
“That's good Illsy... but you have a problem.” Nanya said with a nod.
“What problem?” I asked tilting my head to the left.
She came closer and then shouted in my ear “You built them on LAND!”
“OUCH!” I pulled back and rubbed my ringing ear.
“How do you plan on transporting them all the way to the sea?” she asked shaking her head.
“I can just carve a channel all the way there...” I mumbled.
“Hm, I didn't think of that.” she tilted her head and blinked surprised.
“Was the shouting really necessary?” I asked.
“No. I apologize, Illsy.” Nanya shook her head and then gave me a kiss on the cheek.
“What's up with you lately anyway? Is something the matter?” I asked her while I pulled her in my embrace.
She looked away for a moment and then looked back into my eyes.
“I'm just tired... and a bit frustrated because I lost the game...” she let out a sigh.
“You should have slept some more.” I furrowed my brow.
“It's not that...” she shook her head.
“It's this whole island... the pirates... this whole mess... I don't like it.” she shook her head.
“Why does it make you uncomfortable?” I asked.
“It makes all of us uncomfortable, and I'm worried you might take a liking to killing...” she said as she looked into my eyes.
I could tell that she feared the possibility of me slowly turning into the Darkness again, but something like that was absolutely impossible. Not at as long as I had my beloved wives by my side.
But I suppose it's natural to think like this after I had killed several thousands humans in just this one week... In my previous life, such a concept would have been seen as impossible, unthinkable, improbable, but right now... I do have the cold thinking of a Dungeon and the belief that if I ever stray from the right path, the gods of this world will make sure to let me know. Then again... I'm also older than I look... I thought as I gently caressed her cheek.
Nanya coiled her tail around my waist and closed her eyes, submitting herself to my embrace.
“I'll never take a liking to killing... If I did, we wouldn't have bothered with asking the gods for advice regarding this matter.” I told her and gently lifted up her chin.
She looked into my eyes, and I could see that her worries were still reflected in her gaze. Because she cared so much for me, she feared even more the possibility of loosing me... again. Maybe it was from that fear itself that her rather 'violent' behavior stemmed from.
“Trust me, if I had time to spend thinking about killing someone just for the heck of it, I would make sure to spend it cuddling with you instead. It's far more enjoyable!” I smiled.
Pulling her closer to me, I stole her lips for a passionate kiss and closed my eyes, enjoying the moment. Thanks to her, all the tension and trouble I had in this past week vanished as though it was nothing but a bad dream. Her embrace soothed me, and her lips healed me. Rather than a demoness, she was more of an angel to me... a stunningly beautiful angel who threw tantrums with her fists.
By the time it got dark, the three galleons baptized under the names Augustus, Tiberius, and Casanova finally hit the water. The channels were finished in the blink of an eye, but forming the three groups of survivors and bringing them all on board of each ship was a bit more difficult.
Before I let them set sail into the open ocean, I told them several things.
“Here are my conditions to let you live. First of all, you shall not, under any circumstances, attack other boats while sailing towards Allasn. The white flag means that you are refugees, not pirates. The captain I decided upon does not hold absolute authority over all of you. Their job is simple: get you to a port in Allasn. Afterwards, you may keep the boats if wish to do trade or use them as transport, but if I hear you returned to the life of a pirate, I will literally skin you alive and make you watch. Got it?” I glared at them.
They all gulped and nodded.
“Good! Second rule is as follows: Under no circumstances you shall attack, rob, harm, or rape one another while sailing towards Allasn. If you do so... well, you remember what I did with rapists, right?” I showed them a wide, sinister smile.
The word 'meatball' took a whole other meaning under this context.
They all gulped and nodded.
“Good! Third rule is as follows: Once you reach Allasn, you are free to do and go wherever you desire. I don't care, and you don't need to tell me. To help you on your journey, I shall give you all several gold coins from the treasury of the Pirate King. Those who hold crafting jobs, I shall give you some tools to start off your business again. But again, don't even dare to try and rob each other. Got it?” I glared at them.
The shook their heads left and right.
“I may not be among you, but I can always just go and ask the gods who watch over you. Then, if you happened to cross any of my rules, I'll hunt you down! Don't make light of the mercy I showed you. If you value your newfound freedom, you will also make sure none of you get any bright ideas either. Got it?” I let out a small growl at the end.
They all nodded.
“Good.” I smirked.
After this brief instruction period, I shared the Pirate King's gold in equal parts. I also kept my word and gave those with professions a set of enchanted tools most suitable for each of them. By the time it was midnight, this whole thing was finally over.
I let them sail and as I did, I told Nanya “All that's left is to send the last ship off and then prepare ourselves for departure.”
“What last ship?” she asked confused.
“The one we come with. I ordered them to lower their anchor on the other side of the island, remember?” I told her.
“Ah yes! I forgot. Tehe!” she poked out her tongue.
“Which one of us do you think should go and test them out?” Zoreya asked.
“I think Nanya should. She was technically their captain for a while. Afterwards, I'll give them some supplies and send them off on the road.” I replied.
“Alright. I'll be back as soon as I'm done.” she smiled.
“They are that way.” I pointed in the general direction.
“I'm off!” she said and then dashed towards the ship.
Two hours later, she returned with a smile on her face. Out of all the 114 remaining pirates on board of that ship, only 67 survived this final test. A lot more than I had expected. I was estimating around 24, but I guess I was wrong about them...
I left them enough supplies to last them for two months on the sea, and I also repaired their boat to pristine condition. After giving them enough gold coins to last them for a year, I ordered them to set sail and never again steal from others.
With this, I called it a day and went to bed. For the first time in a while, I slept together with all of my beloved wives. We didn't do anything perverted, just closed our eyes and went to sleep. It was pleasant and peaceful, and I dreamed of playing the latest video games developed in this world. For some reason though, the publisher was always 'Holy God of Big Boobs INC'.
