~ Chapter 124: Was it worth it? (Part 1) ~
[Illsyore's point of view]
The Supremes from Teslov followed us through the town while constantly keeping their eyes on us. They were making sure we weren't going to try some sort of sneak attack, as if any of us needed something as stupid as that to defeat them. Zoreya was a walking fortress they couldn't take down no matter what. Tamara was a silent and deadly assassin they couldn't even see coming. Shanteya was always ready to slice their throats with her daggers, and I was a Godlike Dungeon, enough said.
As calm and composed my wives may have looked, they were all Over Supremes who trained and fought side by side with me on the Boss Island against Legendary monsters like the Leviathan. To ask of them, who could slap a T-Rex unconscious, to be wary of these Supremes was the same asking a Grizzly Bear to be afraid of a little duckling. As for me, I was boosted to outrageous stats thanks to [Bond of Trust II]. Back then, in Shoraya Kingdom, I didn't even had 10000 points in each stat, and I could still handle Dankyun with ease.
No matter what he did in these past years since we last saw him, there was no way he could have reached the point where he could match any of us. It was literally impossible because there was no way for him to have access on these three continents to powerful monsters like those on the Boss Island.
However, this didn't mean that I was completely denying this thought and idea. If there were gods in this world, then who could tell if there wasn't some special underground training dungeons like my own here on Illsyorea, which could level up someone like Dankyun to Over Supreme status. As such, I kept the thought of this possibility in the back of my mind so I wouldn't be caught by surprise.
“This is a surprisingly peaceful-looking town despite the presence of a Dungeon like you.” said the one who I believed was their commander, I didn't bother to turn around to look back at him.
“Of course it is. This island is a place of learning. It ultimately houses a Magic Academy.” I replied in a calm tone of voice.
“And your dungeons of torture and mayhem.” he retorted.
“There are easy dungeons and more difficult ones, true. But my own special dungeon is one to which no one on the island except for my wives have access to.” I replied.
“Why?” he asked.
“Because no one except for us can complete it.” Shanteya replied.
“What?” he was confused now.
“It's far more dangerous than it looks. It's truly a dungeon worthy of my husband!” Zoreya declared proudly.
“It's a death trap for anyone else. Well, if you like, after this event, if you are still alive and converted to a friendly or neutral status, we can toss you inside and record your wails of agony.” Shanteya told them in a calm tone of voice while turning around to show them a friendly smile.
“Your words and expressions don't match, lady.” the one with blue scales pointed out.
“I know.” she replied while keeping her smile.
At this time, one of the children who were running around playing tag bumped into me.
“Umph!” he said and then fell on his bottom. “Ouchie!” he said.
The draconians froze in place when they saw this.
“Hm? Isn't that Wolf? What are you doing, boy?” I asked with a smile as I helped him get back up on his feet.
“Teacher Illsyore! I was playing tag with the neighborhood children!” he replied with a bright smile.
“Is that so? Watch where you're running though. If you were in a dungeon, you could have stumbled into an enemy or fallen into a trap.” I told him as I patted his head.
“Nn!” he nodded and then said “I'll be more careful! I'll go back to playing now! Good day, teacher Illsyore, teacher Shanteya, teacher Zoreya!” he then ran back to his friends.
I continued to walk down the street as if nothing happened.
“You didn't kill him.” the leader said in a surprised tone of voice.
“Huh? Why would I do that?” I asked, but this time I turned around to look at him with a raised eyebrow.
“Nobles usually call for the peasant who bumps into them to be either jailed, fined, or cut down on the spot. You who are a Dungeon did nothing of that sort.” he replied in a serious tone of voice.
“Of course! Why would I cut down a child for bumping into me? Am I an idiot? Maybe those nobles who do that are idiots? No, that would be an insult to the idiots around the world.” I said and shook my head at the last remark.
“Such words could have you easily tossed in jail in Teslov.” he warned me.
“We're not in Teslov, besides...” I stopped and looked straight into his eyes “I defeated the Paramanium Empire's army. What makes you think I can't erase a small kingdom like Teslov off the face of the map?” I stared at him for a moment, but he didn't reply.
Seeing that he was at a loss of words, I turned around and continued to walk.
Eventually we passed by the agriculture fields where Riveron Sei was teaching a bunch of first year students a practical lesson about how to manage the fields. Even the nobles were interested in what they were saying and took notes. After the first month, it became clear for all of them that no matter what was taught here it would come in handy for them in the future, especially for those who had no choice but to make a name for themselves.
“How's it going Riveron?” I called out while waving my hand at them.
“Ah! Illsyore! Good to see you! The students are doing good! At this rate, we might need to expand the fields even more!” he laughed.
“Sure thing! When you are certain about this just drop by my office and submit a written report!” I replied.
“Will do! Have a good day, Illsyore! Ah, and you too, lovely ladies!” he laughed and then bowed.
“Good day, Riveron Sei.” my wives replied to him.
“Such a flirt.” Shanteya giggled.
“That's how he is. Back when we first met him, he didn't even dare speak like that.” I said.
“That was part of the reason why he ended up as a slave, didn't he?” Zoreya asked.
“Hm, I don't think so, but you can ask him.” I shrugged.
“You are not mad that man is flirting with your wives?” the draconian asked.
“Why should I? It's a harmless flirt. When it comes to him, it's basically his way of showing he is on friendly term with us.” I shrugged.
“That man never tried anything unbecoming with any of us or his students or any of the women in town he is friendly towards.” said Shanteya.
“But... that's improper. For a peasant to do that...” the draconian was a bit at a loss of words.
“Why not? On Illsyorea there are no such things as peasants or nobles. I'm the absolute ruler anyway.” I shrugged.
To be honest, when he first started to act like that, I thought something was strange as well, but eventually I learned that for him, his flirts never came with ulterior motives or some kind of hidden agenda. He felt more comfortable speaking in this manner with those he considered as friends.
Eventually, we left the civilian area and entered what was commonly known around these parts as 'the wasteland'. Basically it was the area that I had yet to cultivate or change in any way or manner with my magic as a Dungeon. There were many parts here which developed into a grass field and was often used as a grazing ground for animals.
The training field, however, was more rocky in terms of terrain and without grass. It truly looked like a wasteland.
“We're almost there.” I let them know.
“Where exactly are you taking us?” the dragon with blue scales asked.
“To my training fields where my wives will have a proper conversation with your friend, Dankyun.” I told them.
“What?” Dankyun was the one who acted surprised.
“What about the rest of us?” the leader asked.
“We will probably drink tea or eat some snacks.” I said as I scratched my chin.
“I will make some when we get there.” Shanteya offered.
“Cool!” I smiled.
The draconians behind us were probably confused because they couldn't tell what we were planning. Well, it didn't matter. Soon enough, they would come to decide if they were going to live or die here. Also, I wanted to take them as far away from Illsyorea just in case they decided to cast some foolish magic to harm my city or take them hostage.
“Ah! There it is!” I said as I pointed at the field of a few square kilometers with not even a single blade of grass growing on it.
“That's...” Dankyun said when he recognized the figures of the two waiting for us there.
When we reached them, I said “Gentlemen, I would like to introduce you to my other two wives: Nanya Demonarkiar the 2nd Deus and Ayuseya Drekar Deus.”
“It's a pleasure to meet you.” my draconian wife replied as she made a polite bow.
“Hmph!” the demoness glared at them and crossed her arms at her chest.
“Well now! Shanteya, can you please prepare a table for us?” I asked.
“Of course!” she replied with a smile and then walked away to find a suitable spot for it.
“Now then! Zoreya, please create a reverse bubble shield around this field.”
“As you wish, my love.” she replied with a small bow of her head.
Zoreya started gathering Magic Energy and Divine Energy in her right hand. The process lasted about twenty seconds just because she took her time doing it. When she was ready, she lifted her hand up and cast her skill [Dome Shield].
In that moment, a giant wall of energy separated us from the outside world. The draconians were surprised and entered on high alert, even unsheathing their weapons.
“There will be no need for those. It's a reverse shield. It keeps things like stray Magic Energy attacks from going out and reaching my city. You wouldn't want to accidentally cast a Supreme Rank spell right on top of my Academy, would you?” I told them and narrowed my eyes at them at the end.
“N-No... Of course not.” the one with red scales, their leader, said as he sheathed his sword, but he was still on the edge.
Well, I couldn't blame him, Zoreya's skill was impressive and could even stop one our Over Supreme Fireballs.
I then looked at Ayuseya and Nanya and asked them “Well, have you two come to a decision?” I asked.
“Yes, but we need to change first. Can you make us a changing room?” Nanya replied with a nod.
“OK?” I replied furrowing my brow.
I didn't know why they would need one, but I didn't bother to ask. It didn't take me more than a couple of seconds to make one. The blueprint for it was far too simple, just four walls, a door, and a ceiling with a Light Crystal in it.
“We'll be right back.” she said and then turned towards Dankyun and added “You should prepare yourself as well. Take out and equip anything you might need for the upcoming battle. You'll need it.”
It was a warning and also a mocking comment.
“What?” Dankyun didn't seem to understand what was happening.
“Last time we talked, I did tell you that it wasn't going to be me who will kill you but my wives, right?” I clarified the situation.
“What?” this time it was the red scale draconian who was surprised.
“This is a personal matter, I would suggest none of you interfere. You will see the capabilities of my wives and also come to understand just who you are messing with. Of course, you are free to act as you please and for example attack me or try to help Dankyun, but then... I won't guarantee your safety.” I told them with a smile.
“Dankyun?” the leader asked.
“Tch! I'll fight those shikaks. Don't worry! They can't win!” he sneered.
“Very well. Dungeon, we'll accept your conditions!” he told me.
“As if you had any choice in the first place, but this way we can enjoy a good cup of tea brewed by my beloved wife and talk peacefully!” I declared with a smile.
