~ Chapter 145: Solstark’s demise ~
[Nanya’s point of view]
The Plains of Fire were said to have been created thousands of years ago when my mother, Akardia Demonarkiar, fought for the throne of the Demon Continent. She and the previous ruler fought for several months without stopping, and in this time, the lush plains and the rich mountains home of the most beautiful hot springs were completely reshaped by their powerful attacks. The fiercer they fought, the more the ground underneath their feet bled lava.
In the past, there was a thriving port city here with a well-guarded road connected to the former capital, which now laid at the bottom of a lava lake. The nearby villages and towns were all dependent on the prosperity of the demons living in the capital.
The history books never mentioned if the era from back then was better or worse than the one I was born in, and not too many demons dared to make open declarations about this matter. My mother never bothered to mention how the former ruler of the Demon Continent behaved with his people, but apparently, she was a bit of a battle junkie back then. She used to fight everyone left and right without bothering if it was fair for her or not. Because of this, she ended up losing quite a few times as well, but that only made her more eager to return to the arena to rip apart her opponents with her bare fists and claws.
After she become a mother, this sudden change in her life somewhat mellowed down her desire for battle, but she would rarely back away from a challenge, mostly so that she could enjoy pummeling her opponent into the ground.
I could still remember how one day when I was just young demoness, a demon from the South came to challenge mother to a duel. His body was big and covered in thick muscles. He had flawless hair and a thick manly beard. Even after so many years, I could still perfectly remember how his chiseled body and that confident handsome face of his looked like because this poor demon managed to annoy father with his flamboyance and impress mother.
His name was Gustavianos. The demon arrived at the Demonarkiar Palace early in the morning, thinking that he would be done with this fight by noon. He flexed his muscles and wooed the maids while he waited for the reply from mother. Father wanted to go out and kill him several times just for existing, muttering that it was impossible for a demon like that to exist. Mother, on the other hand, while she was impressed with his manliness, she remained calm and decided to use this moment to teach me and my siblings the difference in strength between her and most of the other demons out there.
The duel started an hour after she ate her breakfast. Despite how strong the demon appeared to be, in the end, he could not stop mother’s assault. Her thundering fists pushed him back and spared him no moment to catch his breath. Mother kept punching him and punching him until they reached the Proving Grounds. To get there, they had to cross the Spikeback Ridge Mountains. Even now you could still see the marks of their battle, or rather where that poor demon was smashed into the ground by mother’s fists.
It would be worth mentioning that the manly demon Gustavianos died halfway through the journey to the Proving Grounds.
Mother’s power was terrifying, but as I walked through the Plains of Fire, I looked at my life and wondered how many years I would still have left if not for my fateful meeting with Illsy. The demoness I had become was far more powerful than any of the beasts lurking within the lava lakes, they all kept their distance as they felt their instincts screaming at them not to dare to attack me. The elders, at the very least, listened to them, but the youngsters found themselves smashed by my fists even when they attacked in packs. To me, these monsters with levels way over 1000 were nothing but weak cannon fodder.
Demons and demonesses of all ages feared mother for her power which led to the creation of the Plains of Fire. They showed respect to her for her ability to turn mountains into valleys, and her strength to hold the throne for thousands of years.
I once feared her as well, for the same reasons, but now, I felt as though that fear was pathetic. Here I was, walking through this desolate landscape of fire and molten rock she left behind as proof of her strength, with the intention to let her know that she became a grandmother, to let her know that I was no longer afraid of her.
Unfortunately, right now, I was not going through the Plains of Fire just to witness the expanse of her might but also to reach the city of the captor of my brother’s wife, Solstark.
From a distance, the city looked like an intimidating monster, with tall enchanted stone walls and black metal spikes all over it protruding outwards like the armored carapace of a monster. The guards patrolling them wore thick full plate armors painted black and red. There were countless claw marks on the walls and a dense field of bones leading up to it.
The gates from this side were closed shut, and two guards were left standing outside. They were strong, but still only around level 1000. They readied their weapons the moment they saw my shadow in the horizon.
I wore Illsyore’s armor underneath a thick, full-body black coat with a hood hiding my face. My sword was ready within my Inner Mind, and I could feel the flow of Magic Energy as it moved around the imposing city. There were a lot of powerful demons and demonesses inside, all equal to the Supremes back on the Sealed Continents.
“HALT!” shouted one of the guards.
“State your name and business in Solstark!” the other demanded.
“Nanya. A Brave on a quest who decided to go through the Plains of Fire for some sightseeing.” I replied in a calm tone of voice, but I was ready to strike them down if they made a move against me.
The guards exchanged a couple of words between each other and then the first one shouted at me.
“Go around! This gate won’t open for you!”
“Understood.” I nodded and then turned left.
At that time, a lava centipede jumped up from the ground and tried to take a bite out of me. This monster was at least 15 meters long and had a thick exoskeleton made from a black metal. Its jaw strength was powerful enough to shatter the stones of this wall. Any normal demon would have been sliced and diced by its mandibles at the first bite, yet when those razor-sharp jaws closed in on my body, they stopped at my Magic Armor.
“What do you think you’re doing?” I asked the monster as I looked at him with a gaze filled with my killing intent.
The monster looked at me for a second and then began to shiver as it slowly released its jaws of death.
“Scram.” I told the monster after he pulled back from me.
Shivering from the tip of its mandibles to the end of its tail, the giant centipede skittered away on the ground, rushing back to the Plains of Fire.
Ignoring the monster, I continued my walk towards the Western town gates. As for the guards from before, they didn’t say a single word to me. They were too confused about what happened to even try to ask me anything.
To enter the city, I had to wait in line. There were plenty merchants who wanted to get inside, but the wares they brought in were mostly of the luxurious kind. Not even one carriage carried staple food, meat, or basic tools.
I found this to be rather strange.
The guards here asked me the same question as the other two did, they did not bother to check anything else and let me through. Although I was a bit confused about the lack of security here, I was glad I did not encounter the same problems I did back in Eventel. If Solstark passed the same ‘Hate Nanya’ laws, I would have been forced to sneak inside.
The buildings here were far taller than those back in Eventel or any of the human cities I have been to. Some of them were four to five stories high, while others even reached eight or nine. There were a lot of demons living here, surviving in this cramped environment. They honestly reminded me of the Merions who overran Fellyore Academy’s sewage system. Illsy ended up blowing them all up to smithereens and thus causing triple the amount of work he had to do. Unclogging toilets filled with monster guts was not exactly pleasant for anyone.
As I remembered that moment, I began to ponder about what sort of silly prank I could pull with a bit of explosives and an unsuspecting victim in the school’s toilets.
While walking through the city, I stopped by some vendors and asked about where I could get a bite to eat. Rather than being hungry, I was more interested in the price. You cannot maintain a proper army on an empty stomach, and hungry citizens tend to easily turn against you. The merchants told me that the food in Solstark was quite expensive. With the price of a decent weapon in Akardia, you could buy just a loaf of bread here. The same went for basic tools.
The items needed by the vast majority were sold at ridiculously high prices, while everything else was only slightly higher than the rest. The weapons and good from Eventel’s traders, however, were the cheapest ones out there. Basically, the people of Solstark had more than enough weapons with which they could defend themselves against violent foes, but not enough food to fill their bellies with.
Initially, I thought that they ended up in this situation because the journey here was dangerous and they did not have an easy access to it, but the merchants shattered this theory to bits when he told me that most of the prices in this city were set by none other than the Duke of Chaos Solstark himself.
Now why would any city lord be so foolish enough as to starve his own population and create animosity against them. I could not understand, but if Ayuseya was here, she would have been able to figure out his ploy.
From the rumors that reached my ears as I walked towards the castle, I learned that a lot of the commoners found themselves forced to leave the city in order to hunt for food in the nearby wilderness. There was a tax on that too, 40% of all the meat brought inside had to be handed over.
In other words, even if they did manage to hunt something good, they would be left with barely enough food to sell and even less to put on the table for their families. But a small piece of meat was better than nothing.
Surprisingly though, there were not that many demons who wanted to leave Solstark. The reason for this was the dangerous area to the South of here, the Plains of Fire. If anyone wanted to leave this place, they were forced to use the South gate and keep on walking. Of course, this didn’t mean that there weren’t demons who pretended to go to hunt only to end up fleeing as fast as their legs could carry them. The ones who could not take this risk were the ones with families inside.
The demons of Solstark were forced to either obey the Duke of Chaos or risk death on the Plains of Fire. It was a cruel and merciless dictatorship.
Yet, how was the public order maintained here?
The answer to this question laid in the soldiers that marched on the streets. Those who worked directly for Solstark were well fed and payed handsomely. In other words, they were the only ones who had no reason to rebel and actually enjoyed things as they were. Thus, the city guards were more inclined on enforcing the law than aiding the poor and weak into escaping.
The castle Solstark was living in was the biggest building in this city. Its imposing walls made it look as though it was ready to stand its ground against a siege of a million monsters, with metal spikes poking out towards the outside and curved towards the sky. It was as if they were expecting the beasts to climb on top of them only to fall back down and impale themselves on their tips. The enchantments were far more powerful than those on the outer wall, every brick was sturdy enough to resist most attacks from level 1000 monsters.
This Duke of Chaos was prioritizing his own safety rather than that of his people. Then again, not many thought about the demons living under them.
As I looked up at the walls and analyzed its structure, one of the guards approached me.
“You, demoness, what are you standing there for?” he asked.
Lowering my gaze to meet his eyes, I replied “I demand to see Solstark. He’s inside, isn’t he?”
“You demand?” the demon looked back at his friend near the gate and then both of them burst into a loud laughter. “Lady, no one demands anything from Lord Solstark! If his grace demands something from you, we will let you know! Now beat it before you’ll regret waking up this morning!” he threatened as he placed his hand on the hilt of his sword.
It was clear to me that this Duke of Chaos took the rude approach when it came to strangers and visitors to his city. If mother were here instead of me, she would have killed them instantly.
Or at the very least, that was I how I thought she would react.
On the other hand, I did not feel like killing them just for that.
I showed this guard a smile and then punched him in the stomach before he could react. As I grabbed him by the face, I then slammed him into his friend and sent the two of them flying into the castle’s wall. The whole action took place in the blink of an eye.
“Next time you open your mouth, do ask who it is that you’re addressing to.” I told the demon before he fell unconscious.
With these two out of the way, I approached the gate and punched it. The force behind my fist was powerful enough to shatter mountains. This metal gate, although enchanted by some of the best mages Solstark could find, was unable to withstand it and bent inwards until the hinges snapped. With a loud thud, it fell on the other side.
Immediately, several demons rushed outside, while a couple of others jumped off the wall. Their weapons were unsheathed and some of them were even in the process of conjuring up their spells.
“What a rude welcome reception.” I scoffed as I whipped my tail in the air, causing a loud boom to be heard.
“Who are you? Identify yourself, criminal!” one of the braver ones demanded to know.
“Me? Isn’t it obvious, you weakling?” of course it wasn’t, and I knew that “I’m Nanya Demonarkiar the 2nd Deus, the daughter of Akardia Demonarkiar!” I scoffed and then immediately conjured up sixteen small fireballs that floated above me, spinning in a circle.
“What terrifying Magic Energy...” one of them said as he lifted his sword to defend himself from my incoming attack.
“She’s obviously lying! Get her!” the demon who wore the best armor among them shouted.
Now that I took a better look at them, there appeared to be a difference in both the quality of their armors and number of enchantments they had on them. The soldiers who acted as a vanguard had thicker plates on their armors, carried shields, and used spears as weapons. The soldiers who acted as crowd control or ranged attackers had thin plates and wielded staves, bows, or short swords.
Based on how they looked alone, I guessed that the higher ranks had more fancy-looking to uniquely styled armors and weapons. The one who called me a liar had gold-engraved chest plate armor.
The soldiers moved at the demon’s commands and stepped forward. They looked ready to attack, ready to take me down, but they were all highly underestimating the power behind these tiny fireballs of mine.
I released my spells to meet those of the enemy casters while a couple of them detonated in front of the vanguards. A series of powerful explosions rocked the courtyard and a huge cloud of dust rose up in the air. Using this diversion, I moved closer to them and began my attack.
A single strike with my palm or fist was enough to shatter their Magic Armors and send them flying into the walls or outside the castle. In the blink of an eye, all the demons who surrounded me fell on the ground, either unconscious or in too much pain to dare to stand up.
The last one was the demon who ordered the attack. I walked up to him while swaying my tail left and right. I was confident in my power. I was confident in my status. I knew what I wanted to achieve in this place and there was no demon or demoness who could stop me from doing so.
“Do you still think I’m lying?” I looked down and then back into his eyes, a mocking smile appeared on my lips “Puny demon.”
“I-I...” he started to speak, but his legs were trembling from fear.
“Hmph!” I scoffed and then slapped him.
The demon flew across the courtyard and slammed into the wall.
“Now then, how about I ask one of the servants here where I can find their lord? That old goat didn’t even bother to greet me.” I said to myself as I calmly stepped within castle.
This place, just like the outside, was decorated with lack of taste for aesthetics. Everything in here screamed of the presence of a demon lord who was trying to compensate with fear for his lack of power. There were paintings of decapitations, naked demonesses licking the Chaos Lord’s feet, whipping, explosions, and various other disturbing things. The statues were all of grotesque mutilated demons, and the chandeliers were made to look like black spiky vines. The colors were predominantly black and red, which made me wonder how this demon even managed to raise a family here, more so a daughter who could enchant Eventel’s heart?
While I was pondering about such things, I found one of the maids serving here. She wore a skimpy leather outfit that showed a lot of skin and emphasized her breasts and bottom, which looked rather uncomfortable to wear. There were a lot of leather belts on this outfit, which did not make any sense to me, but it was clear that it was designed to stir up the Chaos Lord’s sexual desires rather than help the demoness with her work.
“You there, tell me where I can find Solstark.” I demanded.
“Hm? Are you the new dominatrix?” she asked.
The what? I thought and blinked surprised.
“He’s in the dungeon, taming his daughter. You will find a spare set of leather clothes in the room over there, and you can find a whip at the entrance to the dungeon. Hm, by the way, what is with the ruckus outside? Did one of the locals tried to attack the lord out of revenge again?” she asked and pointed behind her at the metal door to the right of the stairs that led to the upper floor.
“Huh? Yeah... that.” I replied while my brain was struggling to process what she just blurted out.
With a smile on her face and swaying her hips left and right, she walked down the corridor and entered the third room on the left. Meanwhile, I remained standing there while wondering just what sort of messed up demon was Solstark.
Shaking these thoughts out of my head, I went down to the dungeons. The moment I stepped inside, I was met with the image of frightened demonesses who were huddled up in the back of their cells. None of them was a slave, but they had all been whipped and harmed in some way by the Chaos Lord.
I wonder if I will be able to abstain myself from killing him? I thought as I grabbed the lock to their cage and ripped it off.
“Get out and stay clear of this castle.” I told them before moving on to another cage.
It did not take me too long to destroy all the locks and none of the guards dared to enter their master’s dungeon. Unfortunately, not all of the demonesses kept in these cages had the courage to escape. They were either too afraid to leave or thought this was some sort of test, which if they happened to fail, they would suffer a terrible punishment later, when Solstark caught them.
Whether they believed me or not and fled from this place did not matter to me. I just happened to do them a favor while I was closing in my original target, the demon that went by the name of Solstark. He was in the far end room of this dungeon and had yet to react to all noise coming from outside.
When I pulled the handle and opened the door, I realized why it was so.
This grotesque demon with red skin, red eyes, and a face that made you want to punch it stood in the middle of the room naked. In his right hand, he held a black whip. On the other side of the room, tied up to the wall in chains, was Viola, his own flesh and blood daughter.
Solstark had goat horns that sprouted from his forehead and grew as big as his entire head. They were curved backwards, forming an arc. His head hair didn’t stop at his neck and continued to grow down his spine, forming a thick mane. The hand which held the whip was skinny and barely showed any well-developed muscles. The legs on which he stood were those of a lizard covered in dark-brown fur. A tail sprouted from above his pelvis and ended with a furry tip. The big round belly similar to that of a pregnant woman was what stood out the most when you looked at him.
Viola, on the other hand, was a beautiful demoness with long blonde hair, green eyes, white horns curved towards the back, two tails ending in fluffy fur, and a row of scales that covered her legs up to her knees. In rest, she was similar to a human, which proved to show that she was a rather powerful demoness too, yet in front of this monster of a father of hers, she was weak and defenseless.
“Who are you? How dare you dis...”
Solstark started talking, but I did not let him finish. I punched him in the face and sent him flying into the wall. The enchanted bricks cracked from the impact, and his Magic Armor was shattered to pieces. Four of his teeth broke off, and his eyes turned white when he lost consciousness.
“Tch!” I clicked my tongue since I held back too much.
This demon was lucky to have survived.
“W-Who are you?” Viola asked with tears rolling down her cheeks.
“Eventel’s older sister, Nanya. I’m here to bring back, sister-in-law.” I replied with a smile.
“Eventel sent you? You speak the truth, right? Eventel sent you?” she asked as she looked at me with eyes that begged me for the truth.
“Yes. Why would you think he wouldn’t?” I asked tilting my head to the left.
“F-Father...” she said and looked at the unconscious garbage “He told me that he already divorced me. That he gave up on me...” she said.
“And you believed him?” I asked.
She nodded.
“No, silly demoness, that demon kept trying to find a way to get to you, but your father threatened to send pieces of you if he didn’t oblige.” I told her and then I looked at her supposedly severed finger. “Didn’t he cut off your ring finger?” I asked furrowing my brow.
“Yes, he did, but I regenerated.” she told me.
“That’s convenient. Does Eventel know about this?” I asked.
She shook her head “I didn’t even know that myself. Even father was surprised, but because of that he realized that he could whip me as much as he wanted without fearing that I would break... It was his way of... teaching me how to be a woman.” she replied in disgust.
“I understand. You do not need to say anything. Now let me get you out of these things.” I told her as I grabbed the cuffs.
“You can’t take them off that easily... they are impossible to...” she started saying something but the loud crack the metal made stopped her.
The cuffs were forced open, and I highly doubted they could be used again.
“How did you?... But these... they were supposed to be...” Viola said as she stood there speechless.
“They were supposed to be what?” I asked as I pulled a blanket out of my inner mind and covered her frail body with it.
“Impossible to break...” she said.
“Impossible? Those things?” I looked back at them, and I was surprised to hear that someone believed something as silly as that.
“It was said that Queen Akardia’s husband made them and gifted them to Solstark many decades ago. They were made in such a way that even her Majesty would have a hard time getting out of them.” she said as I helped her walk out of that horrible dungeon.
“Pfft! If that is the best father can make, then he has either grown weak or senile over the years. The cuffs my husband can make can restrain even a Leviathan.” I laughed.
It felt so good to find out that I just destroyed one of father’s little toys.
As soon as we stepped out of the castle, the ground began to tremble under our feet and the flow of Magic Energy around started to twist and turn as though it was being disturbed by some powerful force. The soldiers and servants all fled from the scene, while the people within the city began to cry in fear.
Viola was shivering in my arms, but I didn’t feel even the slightest bit threatened by this display of power. Shifting the flow of Magic Energy and turning it wild was an easy thing to do anyone with a level over 1000 could do it with enough practice.
“WHO DARES TO STEAL MY PROPERTY?!” Solstark growled in anger.
The wrath of this demon was manifested through red lightnings that attacked everything around him, leaving behind only devastation. That was pure Magic Energy released at random and could only be used to intimidate others by giving the impression that the one who cast this was undeniably powerful.
If I did the same thing or if any one of my sister-wives did that, then this entire city would be destroyed all together not just a few rocks around us.
“Since when is my sister-in-law your property?” I asked raising an eyebrow at the one behind the cloud.
“YOU! HOW DARE YOU INVADE MY LAND?!” he shouted at the top of his lungs.
When the cloud cleared off, I could see the same ugly demon from before. The difference now was that he was dressed in proper clothing and gave off the feeling of a refined gentlemen, if you ignored his face distorted by his maddening wrath.
I knew I did not hit him hard enough, but he definitely recovered faster than I had expected. He even had time to get dressed. I thought as I moved in front of Viola to better protect her from this mad demon’s attacks.
Solstark straightened the collar of his jacket, which was big enough to cover his entire neck and was pointing up like the mouth of a vase. The mantle was made of a thick velvet and was infused with several spells. Every article of clothing on his body was enchanted in some way or another to increase his combat performance.
“It doesn’t matter, I’ll kill you anyway!” he declared and then shot a sphere of Magic Energy at me.
It looked like a combination of air magic and energy magic but condensed within a shadow sphere. It was a strange spell, which made it hard to read, but while it was quite powerful, it did not even put a scratch on my Magic Armor. Actually, the spell shattered upon impact.
“What?” Solstark blinked in surprise.
He was certainly not expecting his spell to have no effect on me.
“My turn.” I said and then vanished from his sight.
I did not teleport, I simply moved faster than his eyes could follow and stopped when I was right next to him. My punch broke the sound barrier before it smacked Solstark in the guts. The impact made him convulse in pain and barf out his previous meal. I made sure not to let myself get hit by that disgusted slush.
Barely standing on his feet and holding his stomach, Solstark tried to find me as he moved his eyes left and right, but I was already behind him. With a roundhouse kick I sent him flying to the side, right into his precious wall.
The impact released a cloud of dust as the sound released was similar to that of a cannon. A crater was formed on the wall while big cracks spread around like a spiderweb.
Solstark coughed up a mouthful of blood and then fell on the ground with a groan. He was still conscious, but heavily wounded and unable to understand what just happened to him.
Looking back at his castle, I spread my Dungeon Territory for a split second to see if there were any servants on the upper floors on this side of the building. I was in luck, there was no one here.
“Chaos Lord Solstark, before you faint like the worthless scum you are, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Nanya Demonarkiar the 2nd Deus, and if you ever touch Viola or Eventel again. If you dare to mess with my family, I will punch you with my full strength. For reference, here’s a little taste of it.” I declared before I jumped towards his castle and punched the wall hard enough to make the entire front side collapse into a crater.
The shock wave devastated the interior of the castle. It was as if someone had taken a giant bolder and then sent it flying towards the wall faster than the speed of sound. The impact then sent all those too close to it flying back and those inside to feel as though they were being crushed by a brick wall. Humans might have ended up seriously injured, but any and all demons and demonesses caught by this shock wave would at most be knocked off their feet and feel a bit disoriented.
Even Viola found herself falling on her bottom and covering her face from the dust that was lifted up in the air. I would need to apologize to her later.
Turning back to look at the Duke of Chaos, I sent my killing intent at him and remained like that for a moment, just glaring into his frightened eyes.
“I hope I made myself perfectly clear, Solstark. Don’t you dare come close to my family again or I will rip you limb from limb and feed you to the centipedes outside.” I told him in a calm tone of voice, but with enough pressure to point out how serious I was.
I didn’t want him to get it in his head that he had a chance at revenge after this. In his eyes, I had to be just like mother, an entity that could crush him like an insect at any given moment, a being in a whole other league.
After this little display of power, I took Viola from the city and traveled on the road leading through the forest to the border of Solstark territory. The journey there took us two days, and in this time, I got to know the demoness a little better.
Viola told me how she met her current husband, Eventel, and how silly he looked trying to court her. The demon was slow when it came to love, but quick like the wind when it came to running his city. She fell in love with him for his silliness and charming smile, then, as she continued to spend her days by his side, she got to know more and more about him, to love him for the demon he was.
On this occasion, I also told her about Illsy, the goofball who married me with a ‘not not joke’. She was quite surprised to hear that he too was a Dungeon like my father, but more so when she heard about my two bundles of joy: Natrasku and Kormian.
Viola promised to visit us when she got the chance and would always welcome us if we ever wanted to drop by, after all, we were family.
By the time we got to meet Eventel, I got to like Viola as a sister-in-law, and I was glad that her father’s corruption never stuck to her. Actually, he was the main reason why she left Solstark in the first place. As for her presumably ill mother, she was not even aware that her daughter was in the city. That was what the demon told her, but she did not get the chance to confirm it.
If she had known that all of this was one big scheme against her husband, she would have never left Eventel. For Viola, her mother was the second most precious person in her life, whereas her lover came in first.
The reunion between Viola and Eventel was like a moment ripped out of a fairy tale. My little brother was waiting for us at the border, while wearing his battle armor and being accompanied by his loyal soldiers. His figure was firm and ready, but the moment he saw Viola, he mellowed up and started crying.
He rushed over to her and picked her up in his arms. The tears rushing down their cheeks and joyful smiles on their lips made even the sturdy soldiers behind them feel happy for them and express it with a loud cheer.
A nearby monster was startled by the sudden loud noise and fled with his tail between his legs.
When they finally calmed down, I asked Eventel “Do you still remember our deal, little brother?”
“Yes.” he replied with a nod as he held Viola in his arms.
“Good, then I will be leaving for Akardia. It’s been a while since I last saw mother and father.” I showed him a soft smile and then looked up at the leafy crown of the trees.
“I don’t know what you think about our parents, but I can tell you this, they are worried about you. They missed you, sister.” he said.
“Hm? I wonder.” I said with a wry smile and then shrugged “Ah! Before I forget! Eventel.” I looked into his eyes.
“Yes?” he furrowed his brow.
“Congratulations! You’re an uncle!” I told him with a smile and then turned around to leave.
“Huh?” he replied in confusion.
“Dear, she’s the mother of two children, Kormian and Natrasku.” Viola told him.
“Huh? Yours?!” he asked with big eyes swimming in confusion.
Viola puffed her cheeks in anger and retorted “No! How could you even think something like that about your cute wife, you no good pervert?!”
Hearing them goof around like that made me giggle. It was a good sign for a happy marriage and also a proof to show that the terror the demoness went through in her father’s dungeon didn’t leave any long-lasting marks on her.
“I’ll leave my little brother in your care, sister-in-law! Make sure you feed him properly!” I waved at them one last time before I vanished into the forest.
